This is SK6AW
Hisingens Radio club, SK6AW, is an amateur radio club located in Gothenburg.
It was formed at the end of November 1967. It was five hams from the island Hisingen - SM6CKS, SM6CRC, SM6CVE, SM6DTG and SM6DOK, who formed the club, and therefore it's name is Hisingens Radio club. Today, it's located in the area around Delsjön, at the top of a hill, perfect for ham radio.
We aren't the largest club on the globe, but we're trying to have the best friendship in the world among the members. Membership is acquired by invites - you have to be invited by a current member. This is our way of trying to make all members feel comfortable and supportive towards each other. Sure, we fight sometimes, as brothers, but we're always trying to act as gentlemen.
Our main interest is ham radio, primary on the short-wave bands. We're of course also using the higher frequencies. Our antenna farm goes as low as 160m and upwards. We are constantly working on the antenna farm at the clubhouse, creating new or repairing old antennas, contesting, lectures and monthly meetings. Contesting is very close to the heart for many of the members, and the most important contests for us are SAC, Domestic monthly HF contest, Nordic VHF contests, and the international CQ-Contests.
The location is one of the best in Gothenburg. Placement of antennas has been decided using terrain analyzis software and advanced programs to create the best takeoff angles. From our VHF-Tower, we have a clear horizon for several miles. Due to the risk of burglary, we don't store any equipment at the location. We bring our own radios and accessories when we activate the clubhouse.

Our total number of members is limited, but we haven't reached the roof yet. Please contact us if you'd like to check us out. Guests are always welcome! Our monthly meetings are almost always the last Thursday of the month (except for June, July and December), at 18.45 local time. The usual location of the meetings are at Aktiviteten in Mölndal. If you are interested in working contests, or have ambitions to become so, you are especially welcome to drop by! We are very eager to teach the art of successful contesting.
